چکیده
A fraction of light scalar dark matter, especially axions, may organize into Bose-Einstein condensates, gravitationally bound clumps, "boson stars", and be present in large number galactic halos today. We compute the expected gravitational microlensing events clumps composed ordinary QCD axion axion-like-particles derive constraints from EROS-2 survey Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam observation. perform a detailed lensing calculation, including finite lens source size effects our analysis. constrain mass terms matter collapsed individual clump densities, self-coupling. also consider generic candidate with repulsive self-interactions. Finite Source Effects in Microlensing Events
The computation of the magnification of a finite source by an arbitrary gravitational lens can be reduced from a two-dimensional to a one-dimensional integral using a generalization of Stoke’s theorem. For a large source lensed by a planetarysystem whose planet lies at the position where one of the two images would be in the absence of a planet, the integral can be done analytically. If the pla...
متن کاملConstraints on source and lens parameters from microlensing variability in QSO 0957
From regular monitoring of the Double Quasar QSO 0957+561 A,B there is now general agreement on a time delay of about 416 days. This has made it possible to determine the microlensing residual in the light-curve, see Pelt et al. (1998). We have used two significant microlensing features: 1) A " quiet " period with a variability less than 0.05 mag lasting about 8 years, and 2) A change in the re...

متن کاملSystematic Effects on Tangential and Radial Arc Statistics: the Finite Source Size and Ellipticities of the Lens and Source
It has been recognized that the arc statistics of gravitational lensing is a useful probe of the density profile of clusters of galaxies. We examine several systematic effects which are important in predicting the number of arcs, with particular attention to the difference between tangential and radial arcs. First we derive an analytic expression of the cross section for radial arcs taking acco...
متن کاملInterferometric Visibility and Closure Phase of Microlensing Events with Finite Source Size
Interferometers from the ground and space will be able to resolve the two images in a microlensing event. This will at least partially lift the inherent degeneracy between physical parameters in microlensing events. To increase the signal-to-noise ratio, intrinsically bright events with large magnifications will be preferentially selected as targets. These events may be influenced by finite sou...
